#MathsConf28

Last Saturday I finally managed to get myself to a Complete Maths conference for the first time in about four years – looking back at my previous blogs, the last one was #MathsConf13 in 2017 and I’d just gone on maternity leave. I was really excited about this one; there’s nothing quite like a day spent discussing maths education with other enthusiastic maths educators! The workshops I attended were all excellent and really thought-provoking – I left with a lot to unpick.

I did say there might be a blog… in a similar vein to my #MathsConf13 summaries, I’ve gone for a visual blog and I’m hoping to get one done for each workshop I attended over the next few days.

Workshop 1 – Backward Fading: The Solution to Developing Problem Solving Skills?

Dave Taylor @TaylorDa01

For contributions to the Backwards Fading project and Dave’s (significantly better) explanation, see Backward Faded Maths.

Workshop 2 – Developing Firm Foundations in Early Mathematics

Lisa Pollard @booleanmathshub and Abby Cotton @abbymariecotton
